This album is the epitome of black metal avant-gardism. Imagine Berlioz or Mussorgsky taking pills, freaking out and trying to compose a black metal album. Even though ''The great Maddening'' is extremely diverse and eclectic,the band maintains its personal style without copying anyone. Talented bands that dare to experiment always come up with interesting albums.
